Gamers, what superstitions do you have?
Most RPG-players have dice superstitions, I know (got any interesting ones?); do you have any other sorts of superstitions when it comes to games?

I can’t think of any, except for this good luck charm I hang on one of my computers. And some days I have an on day and some I have an off day. But you know, I rely on skill more than luck anyays. noob.
I’m convinced my army of ghosts keeps my computer safe while I crush the Horde.
I pretty much own everything in those pictures.
Eating gnomes/sacrificing gnomes = uber druid lewt.
@asmonet, those are possibly the coolest thing i’ve ever seen. i clicked on it like ‘what?’ and when the page loaded i was just kind of like “O_______O so awesome!!!”
@tiffy: Yeah, I’m pretty much in love with everything that Chris Yates does. :D
thanks for introducing me to who may be one of my new favourite artists haha, i’m excited about this
I’ve never really considered myself a “gamer” (mostly because I know the true definition of one) but I have played A LOT of games in my time. I can honestly say I have no superstitions… that I know of. I have known people, myself included, that conform to specific routines before playing, but beyond that nope.
@Sakata—‘true definition’? I can think of a couple of possibilities here, and I don’t see how any of them are any more ‘valid’ than the one under examination here…
What sort of routines do you conform to, and why don’t you consider these to be superstitious? (in case the description does not make this immediately obvious)
Sorry, I was thinking only about gaming in the “hardcore” sense. Just posted about that too so you’d think I’d be more open to variety lol
Just simple routines like making sure the ashtray, coaster, keyboard, etc. are all in the right place.
Hot Pockets… check.
Drink… check.
Cigarettes… check.
Headphones… check.
If any of that doesn’t follow the routine it’s not something I would consider superstitious. Just inconvenient. I would consider a superstition to be something more like blowing on a troll doll’s hair, knocking on the side of the monitor, or spinning around in your computer chair 3 times.
