Asked by 2late2be (2292points) December 30th, 2008

I just saw an article in yahoo that says that Sony’s PSP is doomed, what do you think? I personaly prefer my iPod Touch of course! But i had both the PSP and the DS and the DS was way better by far!

The best thing about PSP is homebrew and it’s superior graphics compared to DS.

DS all the way.

If I wanted an Mp3/video player, I have my iPod. No way would I use the PSP’s because it’s subpar, can’t hold as much, and its battery life is awful.

I love the DS’s design, homebrew, and flash carts! Awesome!

I think that the DS is really starting to come into it’s own, especially with the new DSi on the way. I’ve always been a Nintendo fan, and also at first I was of the opinion that it was too child-targeted, I’m glad with how the DS has turned out. I can’t say too much for the PSP, although it seems silly to me that people would re-buy movies on different disks to watch on a PSP, when it is so much simpler to convert a file for ipod, or homebrew your DS. Did you know there is a file type specifically for watching movies on a homebrewed DS?

I would opt for the DS. While on paper the PSP is more powerfull, it is basicly a flop in my opinion, there is a real lack of good games, atleast for my style. The DS on the other side has less power, but more games that are easier to pick up play, and just for a few minutes of fun. This is iactually a thing that amuses me, when people prefer a console over the other because it has more power on paper, but less games/ bad games…

One more for the DS. The quality and selection of the games is what really matters, and this is where the PSP dulls in comparison. All the best games on PSP are just PS or PS2 games (Parappa, Gitaroo Man, FFT).

DS Flash carts are magical, and a lifesaver if you want to carry your whole collection with you, while not fiddling with tons of baby carts in oversized cases. Having your whole collection on a cart is pretty sweet.

That being said, you should not pirate games on the DS. The developers just work too damn hard.

Yeah I know, the thing that’s not good about flashcarts is how easy it is to pirate.

There is a store in my town which sells really cheap DS games so I just buy those there and then get the ROMs online for my flashcart. :)

TIE! Whoosh!! Bam! POW! ShaZAM! how about this…psp taped to a nintendo DS! then it could play mp3’s, videos, cool games, internet, and cool graphics all in one package and yes I know I’m being smart but am I right! jk. I have a psp so I have to say psp is my favourite but ds is pretty darn cool…

You can barely find games for the PSP now but DS games are everywhere. The DS is coming out with a new edition that allows for internet and music.

We have both. DS was more family games (DS now has a version of GTA) and PSP is more shooters. Time will tell.

DS wins hands down, but the PSP is good for Pixel Junk Monsters. DS has more variety in games. Nintendo is updating their hardware almost every year, so you can bet you can count on something new.

Both systems have the homebrew option. The only drawback to this is it does take some effort to set up and figure to the systems. But if you’re a fan of the old school nes and snes and don’t have the original systems, then the homebrew option is the best way to go.

Unless I’m missing something, PSP doesn’t The sound isn’t very loud, even at max. If they’re coming out with new and decent games for the PSP, then I wouldn’t dismiss it. I think it still has potential.
