What do you think is the real definition of this word? It could mean anything. ;)

Or did you want me to be less literal?
Yes asmonet, I asked what YOU thought the definition was. :) Thanks though.
Well, I guess then it’s the chaos I’ve accumulated.
Stuff is important. As George Carlin once said, “You gotta take care of your stuff. That’s what life is all about: trying to find a place for your stuff.”
@astrochuck unfortunatley, there aren’t enough places in the world for all of my stuff.
My married friends define “stuff” as the things they cherish; they define “junk” as their husband’s unnecessary and unsightly stuff that collects dust and takes lots of space, like the drum kit from 11th grade orchestra.
@gail what about their unnescessary and unsightly “stuff”? Or do they “not have any”?
Stuff is what you buy when all your necessities are met.
@Mangeons; By “their,” whom do you mean? I am simply quoting my female friends with spouse.I define “stuff” as pointless objects that do not enrich my life, are not coveted by anyone else in the family, and have to be regularly repaired, dusted or painted.
My female friends’ SO’s may have a very different take on things.
The female friends that you are quoting. Are they saying that they (your female friends with spouse) have no “junk”?
They are joking (sort of). A table maintenant.
Stuff is everything I own, be it useful, sentimental, or crap. If I sold all my stuff I’d be naked, with a wife and 5 cats.
In Venezuelan Spanish there’s a great word – “coroto” – that refers to the clutter of stuff we accumulate and carry around with us. “Pick up your corotos and let’s get out of here.” Wonderful word but apparently not used as much any more. It has a nice “undefined object quality” that the more general word “stuff” overlooks by being so fluffy and vague.
“Stuff” is what you have to do, when you’d rather not say what you’re really doing.
What isn’t stuff? If you can name it, it can be considered “stuff” in the right context.
My shit is stuff. Your stuff is shit.
lol astro… reminds me of “If it isn’t Scottish, It’s Crap!” from Saturday Night Live.
Stuff is all those material objects that make my house feel much, much smaller than it should be. Its all good stuff, not junk, but it is unnecessary for basic survival.
Books that I haven’t read yet or that I plan to read again are not stuff. They are important to survival.
stuff is anything I want to refer to that doesn’t all fit in a convenient category. It can be anything. I mean, anything! Real or abstract.
It is anything. IT is for lazy people who cannot find a proper word at that moment to describe what they want to say so they refer it to as stuff.
@mea05key: love the way you keep judgements out of your posts!
speaking as a lazy person, who, at one time, was proud of it (when laziness was a choice), but is now a little freaked by it (since it is no longer a choice)
According to George Carlin: He had a great bit about traveling and moving about. All of his things was stuff, everyone else’s stuff was a bunch of shit. Very funny, of course.
“stuff is stuff”>>>> basically its one of those unique words that you can use to mean just about anything and it will be whatever you want it to be.
As in “stuff it”? That was an expression from my youth.
