Choose: Happy BUT Wrong, Sad BUT Right?

Asked by cornets_01 (87points) January 1st, 2009

It’s like, you’d go for the person you love (who didn’t give a damn about you) or the person who gives a shit about you (and you don’t like that person)..
The decision are all yours.. :)

And there’s a rose in the fisted glove, and the eagle flies with the dove, and if you can’t be with the one you love, honey, love the one you’re with…

I’d wait until the perfect combination developed and remain friends with the two.

There’s ALWAYS more than two choices…

cornets_01's avatar

but this time guys, you’ve got only a choice.

Choosing whether to be used or use someone else, neither is right or likely to make you happy – Solitude would be a preferred option.

I’m with wildflower… I’d much rather be on my own any day!

cornets_01's avatar

haha. nice one.
the thing here guys is,
if you were in that situation..
IF. IF. IF.
it’s just an IF.

wildflower's avatar

but even so, the logic is flawed, because it’s not a choice of right-and-unhappy or wrong-and-happy – both options are wrong-and-unhappy….

just please answer it.

thanks. that would be great.

@cornets: When you ask a question you don’t get to dictate the answer. The purpose of asking is to hear what others have to offer by way of response.

cornets_01's avatar

well, not exactly bythebay.
anyway some people just don’t get the point..
like they are messing with the question, instead of answering them..
haha. ok?

SuperMouse's avatar

@Cornets, since this is such a black and white question, it is difficult to answer it without seeming to mess with it. My answer would be neither because both would suck. I’m with bythebay here.

cornets_01's avatar

all right.
haha. I know it seems pointless..
but I just want to know how far you can go..
[limitations. sort of.]
———————————————————
just give me a one rational answer that is quite logical..
anyone?before I doze off, and return as soon as I’m awake again..
(time check: it’s 5:30am, and I’m still awake. :)
well..

I think wildflowers answer was logical and well stated.

This question requires perspective:

Are we discussing a New Year’s Eve date or a lifetime commitment?

I am little out of date for dating new people, but on a New Year’s Eve date, I’d rather have the arm candy even if she treated me with disdain, but on a lifetime basis, I would rather be with someone who cared about me. In the long run, you learn to love the one who is devoted to you.

Our great-grandparents’s marriages were arranged back in Europe and they learned to live with each other.

All right, I would choose the person that cares about me, but I didn’t particularly like. Reason: perhaps there’s something I missing in the person, and would be willing to look for it if they treated me well. OTOH, if it was someone I loved, but they didn’t care about me, that would be like beating my head against the wall.

And I think I would choose the person I love, but who doesn’t care about me. Isn’t that the way it always is, anyway? No? Well, that’s the type of person I am. So that’s the way I always make it. Can’t conceive of myself as having fundamental power in a relationship. On superficial things, sure, I have a say. But at the bottom, I’m always afraid she’ll leave me. It’s just a matter of what day. When I become no longer worth it.

nebule's avatar

arhh daloon…surely not… that’s quite sad. I hope that this is not the case and that you find a lovely lady… unless of course you’re not bothered…in which case…hurrah for you! x

Being a romantic, I’d pick the former, knowing it might be a lost cause (as they say, the heart wants what it wants).

I would chose the person I love as well. And pray that in time I could take them back to the moments they loved me… After all, Impossible is nothing.
