How long will it take for me to find out if I am approved for a visa credit card?

Well, how did you apply? By mail or online? If you applied online sometimes it’s near immediate. By mail, my MasterCard took a month. It varies, honestly.

If you’re anxious, you could call the company and get the status. :)

I did it online but if immediately im hoping by this saturday (applied teusday)

don’t do it… you seem too anxious to go out and max the card out. be very careful with credit cards. LOL… but it shouldnt take to long. then before you know it you’ll be receiving many more offers through mail..BE CAREFUL

@scubydoo im very anxious because I need it to buy 1 thing online and for right now im not in a big hurry to charge a bunch of stuff…i will be a responsible card owner

@Mizuki: Anxiety is normal if you’ve never applied, it’s the unknown. I took it to mean she was anxious to get it, not about the result. Excitement, not fear.

I was anxious too and I totally understand the excitement. But seriously do not ever carry balance on it. Use it as plastic conduit for cash you already have to spend and don’t fall into the trap that millions of other people have (including myself).

This may seem contrary to what I’m saying but after 6 months to a year ask for a credit limit increase – it improves your credit rating to have more available credit. I know after I requested the first one, it just increase by itself with good happens over time.

@jdogg good job then. I was just saying from personal experience and several friends who were careless with credit cards. I however, have gotten mine under control, unfortunately i still have friends who haven’t. Of course, you said “buy one thing online”. You could always use a debit card if it had a visa logo on it and had enough funds in the bank.
