What qualifies Charles Barkley to announce Monday Night Football?

Asked by andrew (16562points) September 17th, 2007

Not that I have anything against Sir Charles, but wouldn’t someone who actually played professional football be a better choice? Or is this some rotating MNF guest host type thing?

He’s probably as qualified as Rush Limbaugh was. Both follow football, both enjoy football, Barkley was a pro athlete, Limbaugh I believe worked for some NFL team at some point, but I don’t know what he did. But if they’re going to bring in NBA players, I’d like to see Hersey Hawkins. I know he follows football, and he’d be a much better announcer.
