Do projectors ask to confirm shutdown twice for a safety reason?

I know this sounds dumb, but I read somewhere there was a safety reason to explain why projectors ask twice if you wish to turn one off. I always thought it was just because the warm up took a long time or something similarly simple. Maybe I am wrong…

Your intuition is right. If warm up takes 30 seconds and you’re doing a big business presentation, you really don’t want to shutdown accidentally.

Actual human safety is a non-issue.

Think of it as “job safety”.
