The Magic Kingdom has the capacity for 100,000 guests
Disney has no official answer about the capacity of any of it’s theme parks.
I don’t know about Disney World, but I do know that at disneyland there is a limit to the capacity.
There might be….but it doesn’t seem like there is….
Yes, there is. And they will close the parks in stages.
Stage One: Day Guests (ie, people not staying at a Disney hotel) who have not already purchased tickets will be turned around at the Auto Plaza and told that the park has reached capacity. They can try going to one of the other three Disney parks.
Stage Two: Admission is limited to Resort Guests, Premium and Annual Passholders, crossovers and other Guests re-entering one of the Parks today. Guests using WDW Resort Transportation and Guests in taxis will be admitted.
Stage Three: The theme park is only open to Resort Guests using Disney transportation from their Resort or other theme parks or Annual and Premium Passholders. Shades of Green and Downtown Disney Resort Area Guests using their respective transportation will also be admitted.
Stage Four: Closed to all new Guests.
I assure you that if the park every reached enough guests that they even got to Stage 1 closing (which does happen around the Christmas season), you would NOT want to be there in the first place.
Yep, I’ve been there a few times on New Year’s Eve, and most of the parks stop admitting any more guests by about noon – if you’re not in by then, you’re out of luck. But MrItty is right – even when they’re only at Stage One, you really don’t want to be there – it’s a zoo!
Better to go in mid-February when it’s totally deserted – that’s what we do! ;)
Always more crowded then I want it to be…
Per Disney By The Numbers “100,000 guests is the max capacity for the Magic Kingdom. The parking lot closes at 75,000 to allow room for Hotel resort guests arriving on buses, boats and monorail.”
