What are good ways to follow the Obama inauguration from outside the US?

Asked by zina (1661points) January 5th, 2009

I’m in Budapest, Hungary. Yes, I can go to a bar and watch it on TV (don’t have one at home). But I’ve got good internet at home. Live streaming recommendations? Particular news/politics/radio/video websites? Other ideas?

Thanks for asking this question, as I want to watch it from Canada; even though the chances of it being put on TV are very very high, I’d rather watch it on my laptop.

I would be both surprised and not surprised to find out that the Obama campaign will stream it live themselves, seeing as they are proficient with web video, albeit prerecorded and aired on YouTube.

I'm sure there will be a live stream on NBC.com or CBS.com

It’s a little far in advance still, for this kind of thing – but let’s update each other if we find good sources, from now up to that day!

CNN will also probably have video streams as well. Some of my friends were in Europe during the election and were able to see all of the vote counting and speeches at the end through the CNN website. :) Good quality too.

www.Cspan.org will always have live streams.

In Australia it is on pay tv (CNN, Sky, Fox) and also on free tv. There have been letters to the editor in the local paper complaining about the coverage interrupting important local news, such as cricket. etc.
