Are you "hair challenged?"?

Asked by cdwccrn (3620points) January 6th, 2009 from iPhone

It takes three hairbrushes for me to get my hair to look presentable. Well, it did until this last haircut. Now, I use a curling iron. But, usually , only one side looks the way I want it to. Anyone else face this daily battle?

no matter what I do or how much hair spray/jel I use it still does what it wants to, I just give in and let it
I lost the battle

I gave up years ago. Now my hair is just as few millimeters long, and I never have to worry. Of course my girlfriend is pestering me to grow some actual hair, but I’ve bribed my way out of it so far :-)

@jbor, good luck.

I used to “face this daily battle”, but now the enemy is in full retreat

Yes, but I’m lucky. I can just wear hats.

I used to. Then I cut my hair short. Now I just kinda have to flatten it in the mornings (it’s bouffant in right after waking up).

I have long straight hair. The most I ever do to it is a shampoo and a condition. I don’t blow dry it, don’t style it, don’t do anything other than comb it once a day or so. There’s no real point, anything short of a perm will disappear within an hour or two, my hair is that straight. So yay for lack of hair hassle, but boo for lack of ability to do ANYTHING with it.

I used to flat iron my hair daily, I got so damn sick of it, eventually I just caved and decided I’d live with big bouncy curls. Fine by me. :)

Big bouncy curls sound lovely!
Why would you want to fight such a thing?

As for me, nope. Shampoo and towel dry.
Just a few fingers run through it and I’m good to go!
(No conditioner, blow dryer, flat iron, comb or brush.)

@Nimis: Thanks, but if you had them you’d understand. My hair is on the medium fine side, so sometimes it just turns into wispy floof.

And I thought you were shunning me because of the Beatles?

Nimis's avatar

Hey, you forgave me for putting it under.
Hmmm….that sounds kind of dirty.

Pancakes time, Nimis?

Forgive and forget, err, not forget it seems. Forgive and hugs?

smooch!

All is forgiven. :D

i don’t face the battle. i brushed my hair for the first time the other day in what must be like a year. i dry my hair and play around with it (curl it usually) when i first get out of the shower, but until i take the next shower i just put some hair gunk in it to try to pouf it up a little, and if it looks greasy i put baby powder on my scalp.

Oh my! [fans self.]

I have fine hair that has different patterns of curl around my head. Hair product tends to either weigh my hair down or somehow dissipate, leaving my hair fuzzy. I don’t know what to do. :(

edit to my answer, it sounds as if i shower rarely ahhahaha. i assure everyone that i do shower frequently, but i have naturally fine/flat hair, so it appears to look greasy just hours after showering.
just had to clarify.
hahahah

I only have seven hairs on my head so I am VERY particular about what I use on them.

I am a lucky girl, hair-wise. It’s thick, lots of body, and will do what I tell it to do (though mostly what I tell it to do is ‘stay in this ponytail, out of my damn way’). It is on the dry side, so I use a good conditioner. I didn’t always feel lucky though, and fought with my hair for years. The key is to get the right haircut for your type of hair. I wash, condition, towel dry, and brush. That’s it.
