Pronunciation: ‘stAt-&s, ‘stat-
Function: noun
Inflected Form: plural sta·tus·es
: aparticular state or condition status>
Thank you. I was hoping for a useable form statii, but statuses works.
The Latin word status is a u-stem noun, so the plural is statūs – not stati or statii.
The English plural is statuses. The OED has no citations for any plural form besides statuses.
Hooray for the OED! But then again, why would you need to cite more than one status at a time?
