They are the best sports team in the history of sports. Gotta love em. But I have to say that GAILCALLED’s answer is probably the best answer you’ll get.
They sold their collective soul for umpty-million dollars, and no, you don’t “gotta love em.”
They have some class athletes: Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Hideki Matsui, Jorge Posada.
But I’m disgusted by most Yankee tactics. Throwing Joe Torre on his ass after so many years of outstanding service and putting up with George? Spending $420 million – on three players? Building a new stadium when the old one was working fine… and giving the bill to taxpayers? Hank Steinbrenner whining about injuries? Disgusting. I relished their mediocrity last year.
If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. So all I have to say is…......................
Go Yanks. I seriously wouldn’t care if the Yankees spent 2 Billion on three players. As long as they win a world series. They sucked ass last year though.
I live in the core of Boston. RED SOX!
The Yankees sunk $160M on a 300lb pitcher during an economic recession. Also, they’ve stripped their most loyal fans of the honor of seeing the team play live by escalating ticket prices to staggering levels. They’re awesome. And by awesome, I mean they’re fools. Go Red Sox.
@Sharp; then you mean “awful.”
I don’t care if the Yanks eventually pay someone a BILLION to play for one year, as long as they win the series. =)
You know what’s more crazy though. Everyone’s always worked up about how much these baseball teams play their players, but imagine how much the owners are making if they can afford to pay a single player $160Mill. Crazy right?
GO RED SOX! Eff the yankees
I sure enjoyed the Red Sox sweeping them this weekend, myself.
Yeah, it was really convenient so I decided to clean my room before I put my broom away.
Corny joke, sorry, but I was super psyched about it.
