Windows 7 public beta coming on Friday; are you going to download it?
Oh, Steve. ” ‘No matter how long this recession lasts, our digital lives will get richer,’ he said early in the keynote. ’[And] Windows will remain at the center of peoples’ technological solar systems.’ ” Ballmer would say that. Actually, I think it would be exciting to test out a new OS. It’s only going to be in a few languages and it expires in August. Will you give it a go?

No. Not unless someone pays me big bucks. I’m still avoiding Vista as much as possible, and almost entirely succeeding.
Nope… I am old. Back in the day I used to overclock and install beta software. Now I am old and want my computer to work when I need it to make money. It just needs to work.
I even wait a few days to install security updates.
I’m running the pre-belta right now, and can’t wait for this new build. I was going to get the torrent of it, but now I’ll just wait a day for the public beta. Its like a non resource hogging vista on steroids, and I love it.
No. The last Windows version I used with any regularity was Windows 2000, and it would take a technological miracle for a Microsoft product to compare favorably with Linux and OS X after the amount of effort they’ve spent turd-polishing Windows XP and Windows Vista for the past 7 or 8 years.
I feel no particular compulsion to do such a thing. I’m still running Tiger, and the next OS I run will probably be whatever the current OS X version is when this lappy dies.
I have XP SP3 on my desktop and Vista SP2 pre-installed on my laptop. XP is all right. Vista I hate. I’m a little scared of how to switch over to Linux to give it a try, though I’m interested in it.
