Why don't the up and down arrow keys work when answering questions in Fluther?

I had encountered this this morning, but I had thought it was just a problem with my computer. Alas, it seems it is indeed a problem with the textbox here. I’m pretty sure it’s worked before, so it’s probably just a bug that’s come up because of another change they’ve made behind the scenes.

Meh, does it matter?

I just noticed that too. When writing long responses it DOES matter. If you have 10–12 lines of text, going from the beginning to the end requires you to hold down the arrow. Some people are much more productive with a keyboard, so using the mouse becomes a hassle. As dynamicduo mentioned, this is something that I’m pretty sure used to work before.

i have a scroll wheel on my mouse, so I have no idea if it ever did anything different from what it is doing right now.

Well I noticed that the new feature Andrew implemented (the @username convention) uses the up and down arrows to select what user you are responding to. Based on my programming experience, I would find it likely that the current arrow problem is being caused by the @username feature’s programming logic. Then again, when it comes to bugs, sometimes it’s a totally different issue that causes the problem!

Not only does that not work, but I can’t even give an answer in Firefox anymore – I’m stuck using IE to write this! Oh Fluther, you are the ONLY site I consider doing this for :)

ya gotta hold it down for a second before it starts working, unno works for me.

@dynamicduo i had that same problem last night, i coudnt figure out what was causing it. But when i got on this morning it was fine.

me thinks andrew brokeded fluther a bit :P

wait, i think i know what you’re talking about. sometimes when you are finished writing your reply, you do whatever you do to get out the “yellow” field to the “answer” box, but the arrow won’t let you out of the “yellow field.” you just want to get down to the answer box from where your cursor is.

i just click somewhere outside the yellow field and then i’m able to get to the answer box. happens all the time.

It’s fixed now.
