Can someone with average artistic/creative skills learn the basics of hairstyling?

And pull off styling (not necessarily cutting, but styling) hair?

Sure. I don’t see why not. If I can make my hair look decent, trust me anyone can.
Yeah, anyone can do the basics. It’s like cooking. There are books that show step by step some basic simple styles for every day, and special occasions. Just be careful what type of products (shampoos, hairspray, etc) and tools (flat irons, curling irons, etc) you use as cheap stuff will damage your hair in the long run.
Seems like plenty of people without “average artistic/creative skills” practice hairstyling with impunity. Don’t hold back! Even saying you think people might need such skills overqualifies you.
