What song describes your personality?

Asked by jonsblond (44203points) January 9th, 2009 from iPhone

My son had to answer this question recently for his English class and he agonized for hours. Can you think of what song would describe you?

Well, change the gender and it fits who I am right now: “The Man Who Sailed Around His Soul” by XTC.

Songs usually describe my mood rather than my personality. Occasionally Dylan’s ‘Watchin the River Flow’ and occasionally the Beatles’ ‘Fool on the Hill’. Right now, probably the opening movement to Mozart’s Symphony #25 in Gm, but then, it’s Friday.

The Animals – Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood

It’s just about word for word, who I am, for the last ten years.

Lecrae – Take me as I Am

This really changes very frequently, but I’d suppose it’d be Acda en De Munnik – Bij Haar Zijn. Not just the melody, the text as well, but I don’t suppose most of you will understand it ;-)

I think that the song that best describes my personality is the theme song to the kids TV show The Bananna Splits.

“Hair of the Dog” by Nazareth.

@tiffyandthewall- more than one is fine. We can amend the question to read: What song describes your mood right now if you’d like. I’m not very picky.

Hands down…

“The Tracks of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles

hundreds, depending on my mood.

The one I like most is “Piano Man” by Billy Joel, even though I don’t play the piano, nor have I really been in these situations. But the whole atmosphere of the song is something I can identify with a lot.

Right now it’d be Tubthumpin’. :^>

Tubthumping=some salesman term?

cyndyh's avatar

No. Not anything at all to do with sales. It’s more to do with my stubborn spirit. :^>

@90s_kid dude come on that song is from the 90’s

cyndyh's avatar

Exactly. Thank you, uberbatman.

Wonderful Tonight always makes me think of my wife, jonsblond. She really wanted it to play as she walked down the aisle but the band didn’t know it. Bastards!!!

Good job guys, made me hafta look it up.

I don’t have one now, but when I was a teenager this song (well really just this verse) was perfect: ‘The Greeks Don’t Want No Freaks’ by the Eagles.

She was the perfect little sister
until somebody missed her
and found her in the bushes
with the boys in the band!

In my more introspective moments, it was ‘Nobody Knows’ by Billy Squire.

Nobody knows
what dreams I see
aint nobody really knows
the inner side of me.

Blondesjon's avatar

@augustlan..don’t get too enamoured with Billy Squire. Didn’t he also sing about “The Stroke.”?

augustlan's avatar

Um, yeah. Ha!

Sakata's avatar

But he did do a good X-mas song. Might be the only X-mas song I can stand anymore.

augustlan's avatar

Good call Sakata! I’ve missed that song :(
