How do you measure an L-shaped room for new flooring?

To measure a living and dining area joined as one large room length by width.

It sounds like you’ll need to know the square footage. If so, just divide the room into two rectangles, get the area for those rectangles (length x width, as you say), and then add those two areas together.
Bob is right; jr. high school geometry had a use after all :-d. The flooring people will figure out the amt of whateveryou need to order.
First of all, you measure appropriate futniture such as a chair. then taking a photo of the chair from I side and _ side respectively. you will imagine how you can arrange furniture.
