Lately I’ve been hearing a LOT of people (online mostly) use the words “Real Talk”
Did this just become popular in the last few months/years?
What is going on?
Does anyone know the origin. (how it started, who made it popular etc.)
thanks

I’ve never even heard that phrase used. It might just be in your circle. Try hanging out with a different group online, just for fun, and see if it still turns up.
@unused Bagels: I’ve heard people (Rappers I guess) use it in their videos
I keep using it at the office to be awesome, (since that’s the kind of guy I am) but no one knows wt* I’m talking about…
real talk, jesse mccartney
or, B9/4chan…. where most things appear
no.. the words ” real tal” cme from so cal (southern california) just another way to say “keepin it real” or “for real”
WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! I’m from the BAY AREA Oakland Ca the term was stolen from here, we started that term in 1998 stopped using it and an rapper named Fabolous came out here made a song with E-40 and heard the Word REAL TALK and he went back to the east cosat and named his 2004 album called REAL TALK, Once he released it the word went world wide which happens all the time the BAY AREA is responsible for 90% of the slang terms out here on this planet and we never get credit as usual.
Actually all of you are wrong. The rap group Outlawz has used the term in several of there songs in 1997. So they are the first group to use the term on record.
