Is there a rule or something, that boys should wear it on the left, and girls should wear it on the right? Please make this clear!

Your non-dominant wrist. If you’re a righty, wear it on the left, and vice a versa. That way it doesn’t scrape every time you try and write something.
Eambos is correct—your non-dominant wrist.
Though some lefties also wear their watch on the left wrist to conform to what most other people are doing. If you wear it on the dominant wrist, it will take longer to get used to wearing.
< < wears his on his dominant wrist and has no problem writing.
Its really non important, I think it’s just an old custom. Wear the watch on whatever wrist you wish; It really doesn’t matter.
When I was a kid, my momz told me to wear it on my left. Now (if I wore watches) I would wear it on whichever wrist felt more comfortable.
I use a pocket watch myself.
Thank you for the nice answers! I was afraid, that wearing it on the right (though I am right handed) makes me gay or something. I have no problems with gay people, but I am not that kind of man, and don’t want to seem to be one of them.
Do they make watches for lefties? (So that the stem is on the opposite side).
@tilc You’re safe. I’m reasonably sure that where you wear you watch won’t effect whether you are gay or not.
Great! Thank you Grissson! :)
There are a few companies that make “left handed” watches to be worn on the right wrist, (go figure), but you will have to special order it from the factory.
I usually wear watches on my left but I have one the fits better on my right, so I trade off.
Everywhere I go I can usually find a clock if I need it.
I don’t think I’ve worn a watch in over 10 years.
lol, Grisson
@fireside I stopped wearing a watch a while back, too, because I developed an alergic reaction to something in the band or the metal of the case. I haven’t missed it all that much.
Dave right-handed, Dave wear wristwatch on left hand.
I think the original reason watches were worn on the non dominate hand was when they needed to be wound therefor allowing for the dominate hand to be free for the winding!
as i know it you wear the watch on the other to which you write with so if when logging a time as you are writing it is easily viewed.
Lightlyseared wears his watch pinned to his top.
Wear it with the dial facing outward, not inward!
