What's your worst Valentine's Day memory?

Asked by La_chica_gomela (12594points) January 14th, 2009

Since there have been like 4 times as many answers to the lady asking for advice about chickens than people with favorite vday memories, i decided maybe you guys don’t have fond memories valentine’s day, just crappy ones, and i’m going to get to the bottom of this, so share your super crappy vday memories!

uhm well..i had a guy who was like my best friend and i guess he was liking me when he asked me to be his valentine (but let me fill you in on the guy, he has went out with a lot of my friends already, and has been around if you know what i mean). Either way it goes i agreed to be his valentine on an “just friends” basis, ya know? Well come to find out he just got out of a relationship right before valentine’s day, and his jealous ex basically stole my gift that he was suppose to give me. Childish I know, but he had nothing to say after that, and that just pissed me off. I hated that day after that and oh yeah he was my first valentine.

I heard that my first love (we were separated and have been apart ever since, no contact), anyways, I heard around Valentine’s Day that he had attempted suicide and was in the hospital because of a medicine OD.

What a day, huh…one of the worst days ever.

My ex-bf taking his whole paycheck and blowing it on heroin and just giving me a heart-shaped pizza. (He worked at pizza hut). Found out about the drug addiction a few weeks later.

Breaking up after a 2 years of dating, not to mention moving to a whole different state to be with her…

…Hmm also sums up my Christmas, and Christmas eve, all dates I have had break ups on.

The v-day that I was 16, my uncle had died 5 days before, my best friend started going out with the guy I liked (who she said she would not go out with because I liked him) and my mom was in Colorado for my uncle’s funeral. I was staying with friends whose entire routine and life were completely different from mine at a time when what I needed was what I was used to.

By the way, these are some doozies. I hope no one here ever has these kinds of days again.

@KingMalefic: You went to school there, I mean it wasn’t all bad. Or am I thinking of the wrong girl?

EDIT: Nevermind, wrong girl.

Wrong girl… but it was once from VA to FL for the Christmas eve and then 4 years later it was reversed for Valentines day.

Worst Valentines Day was whan I learned that when a woman says, “don’t get me anything” they REALLY don’t mean it… at all.

Period.

Ever.

I doubt I’ll hear the end of that one before I die.

My boyfriend in highschool, a boy named Mike, gave me a box of those Walgreens style chocolates (the cheap stuff). I was all excited until he said, “Well, I’m just giving you this because I knew you expected me to.” Later that day the cheerleaders delivered pink roses to lucky girls in their home rooms. A girl named Mary received a pink rose from Mike. What a slugbutt.
