Do you believe in “signs” or do you just chalk it up as coincidence? What is the last thing you saw or has happened to you that you considered a sign to mean something else?
I don’t wear a watch and rarely look at the time. For about 3 years in college it seemed like every time I looked at the time it was 4:20 (which I thought was cool because that is when I started smoking weed), but it happened so much that I got a little freaked out (twice a day/ everyday), I mean why couldn’t I catch the clock at 4:21?. After college I got into the habit of smoking lots of weed, and now for the past couple of years I have been catching the clock at 11:34 which I have always associated with HELL. Why can’t I catch it a minute earlier (11:33) or a minute later????? I know it’s all in my head, but I do believe in signs and wonder if this is one.

As long as you don’t wake up at 3:00 AM every morning I think you will be okay.
o.o
As for signs, I missed the bus a couple times and took it as a sign to get up a few minutes earlier.
I’m having trouble associating 11:34 with fire and brimstone but for the most part coincidences have a much more easy going, laid back, fun sort of association while conversely signs tend lean more towards portents or implicate things that must be done.
And a lot of the time things that must be done, especially those that have been made apparent by one-eyed crows flying west on an autumn eve, wind up never being a lot of fun.
It’s human nature to form patterns out of random events. I don’t believe in signs.
I don’t believe in signs, you know not really. But I do sometimes get freaked out about things like the clock thing!
@jamspoon, if you enter 1134 into a calculator, and turn it so the display is at the bottom, 1134 spells “hell”.
I always see “11:11” and take it as a good sign
@AlfredaPrufrock That was very interesting…I’d never heard of that before, and it makes perfect sense.
When I was a teenager, I always freaked out when I saw any time on a digital clock where all the numbers were the same. 2:22, 4:44 or 11:11 were equally unnerving to me.
I’m going to need all the miracles I can get, so let’s hope they are commonplace.
If I’m driving down the road and I see this sign, I’m already screwed, no matter what. Women’s intuition is friggin’ frightening!
@tennesseejac;
Your story sounds like some Hotel California scenario to me!
watch the movie signs with mel gibson thats quite good with the signs theme n’all.
i’ve had a similar thing with 4:20! i don’t know why, but it seems that every afternoon during the ‘4’ hour, i always look up at 4:20.
maybe it’s just that i only notice when i look up at 4:20 and not the times that my weird coincidence doesn’t happen.
All the time. I totally believe in signs. Especially with my boyfriend. In the beginning we would finish eachothers sentences, I remember I was about to send him a link to this nickleback song via internet, and he just goes and sends it to me. For no reason. So weird.
We’ve been talking about moving to Denver.. and we were playing around on iTunes and the Denver radio station came on when he pressed to the next station. Maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic and dreamer, but i believe it’s all signs.
I keep finding bums (bum boyfriends)
Is it a sign?...
asmonet hit it right on the head. It is human nature to seek patterns where none exist. Anything else is purely delusional thinking. The only signs you should pay attention to are along the highway. Stuff like Slow Down, Twisting Curves, Danger: Falling Cows, Speed Limit, etc.
Some of my friends smoke Weed and they all belive in SIGNS! Its funny. What is the relation of 11:34 and Hell?
@Emdean1
hell
11ǝɥ
well, that didn’t really work, try it on a calculator
@fireside when you get that all figured out let me know
umm, ok. i guess you don’t have a calculator with an LCD display?
@fireside i guess i forgot about 11:34 back in 8th grade
sure, so did I until this thread.
but that’s the significance, either way.
maybe it coming back up now was a “sign” : )
When I saw people buying homes I knew they couldnt afford and college kids getting credit cards in the mail with no jobs to pay for them, it was a sign of things to come. ( 3 years ago )
I have had a few instances where my intuition warned me of danger that proved correct. I try to listen to that inner voice these days. It rarely fails me.
Nothing with clocks so much except occasionally I will see 12:34 or 4:56. I did arrive in New Orleans for the first time at 4:20 in the afternoon which my girlfriends and I thought uproarously funny. The next sign we saw was “Bourbon Street”!
Yes In do and once you acknowledge their existence they are everywhere. I call them guide posts as they can help bring comfort and direction in otherwise uncertain times.
@Cruiser
Absolutely!
I have had so many synchronistic events and fortuitious happenings I could fill a small binder!
Here’s just a few….
Wishing for a call on a job I really wanted and the phone rang as I was literally thinking that thought…the job was mine!
Wanting to live in the area I am living in now and after a river walk a few years ago thinking how much I wanted to move to this area.
Within a few weeks a house ‘magically’ showed up, was totally perfect in every way, AND..it was mine in the same day!
Came into a goodly amount of money during a very stressful time in my life…the ‘timing’ was, beyond a shadow of doubt…of ‘divine’ intervention.
It’s not….’ see it and you’ll believe it’.....it IS ’ BELIEVE it and you WILL experience it! ’
If you’re out of touch the magic can’t touch you! ;-)
It’s all in your head.
In fact you’ve looked at the clock many times when it hasn’t been 11:34, but you simply did not take note of it. When you do look at the clock and it is 11:34, that moment stands out because you believe in this pattern.
When I walk down our rock road on our farm when I look at rocks
(which I love) I often see them in lines one behind another but everyone
else sees just a bunch of random rocks….
I also find lots of dimes in parking lots etc where most people find pennies.
This didn’t start happening until I lost my parents…..
