Have you ever taken a craigslist ride? How did it go?
I am heading to my company’s HQ for work next week. I don’t own a car and don’t want to rent one because I really dislike driving. I was thinking of taking the train, but I also posted on CL that I needed a ride. I have heard back from one person who sounds crazy and another that I am just not sure about. Have you done this before? How did you decide if the person was legit?

Not a ride, but my daughter found all of her roommates on Craigslist, both at the last apartment and this one.
Green Planet has a posting on successful ridesharing and references erideshare.com.
I found my roommates on Craigslist, and they’re two of the best people I’ve ever met, in the nicest house I’ve ever lived in, with the cheapest rent I’ve ever paid (for what I’m getting).
With that said… I’d never accept a ride from someone on Craigslist. When you’re looking at an apartment, there are all kinds of ways you can check up on people. When it’s just a ride you’re after, you can’t really get the same information to do so.
I think you should do it. Make sure you keep a journal about it and it will be a good experience to write about later assuming you aren’t murdered.
On another note, I sold a bike and a dryer on Craig’s list and both of those experiences turned out fine.
Make sure you text the license plate number to someone and make sure your cell phone GPS is turned on.
