What are the best places to visit in Fallout 3 for Xbox360?
I have been struggling with this game for some reason. I keep finding myself trapped in areas with no ammo and barely any health. Any tips for me? I don’t have any schematics and can’t seem to find them. I blew up Megaton and have a place in Tenpenny Towers, and I can’t even find Moira to buy the schematics off her for the Rock-it launcher.
I also already have Paradise Falls as a place to hang out.

It’s a vast game, so giving general suggestions is rather difficult :-) I know someone who made the Rockit Launcher, and he wasn’t impressed. Personally I specialized in small arms, and never bother with energy weapons etc. Shifting between the chinese ak, shoutgun and normal rifle, I never have any problems with ammo.
Oh my! You certainly are a low-karma player. I kept megaton intact, and I’m glad about that, since there are so many great supplies and locks to pick.
I also specialized in small arms, and have not at all been short on ammo. I’ve actually never run out of ammo for a weapon, although I came close with the Railway Rifle.
Since I was completely unwelcome at Tenpenny and Paradise Falls, it’s hard for me to suggest places for you to get supplies. Try tackling a factory or interior “dungeon,” and save frequently. Mines and grenades can help you out in a pinch. Put together a couple Nuka-grenades or bottlecap mines just in case.
The wiki above will definitely help; it’s hard to give specific advice without knowing how far you are in the game and what attributes you have.
It sounds like you’re pretty early in the game.
First, the bad news: Moira is dead, she lived in Megaton.
The good news is that the guns you can build aren’t incredible (though some come in handy). You should try to find unique weapons as those tend to be much more powerful. You can find them on the wiki. You should be able to get Ol’ Painless fairly easily. High repair skill and high small guns skills help out a lot.
You will definitely want the Scrounger perk, but that’s probably not for a few levels. Without it, ammo is in scarce supply, which is annoying. It sounds like you need to wander a bit (maybe into Rivet City or into the DC Ruins) and pick up some missions. Having a good gun will help.
@bob: not true! Moira was exposed to a huge amount of radiation, but she made it through alright. You can still find her somewhere… but you wouldn’t make it close unless you’re much farther in the game. Too many supermutants with miniguns.
Thanks everyone for your answers! I’ll keep building my small guns and repair skills then, not to mention keep picking the scrounger, bc i keep finding myself running out of ammo and with no way to heal myself.
@luminous00, MAKE SURE that you get the perk that gives you 5 more skill points per level, and also the one that lets you find more caps. You’ll routinely find 70–100 caps in lockers and boxes.
Also, pick EITHER Lockpicking OR Science, but not both.
I need to try to find some bobbleheads. I only could find 2 on my own. I just need to finish the damn game already!
I love Fallout, and it’s beautiful and terrifying. But when I lost 2 of my followers because my Karma was too high? I’m so angry! I want to kill them and get my stuff back.
You blew up Megaton?!? What a dick. :)
WHOA. Did you guys clean out the Capitol building??? INSANE!! Definitely the hardest part in the game so far for me.
SPOILER FOLLOWS!!
SPOILER!
is that the only behemoth? are there others? where? yikes!!
Also, I finished the game, and I stand by my original position that the main story is crap next to the story that the environment and computer terminals tell.
i didnt blow up megaton, i just got annoyed with Moriarty, put the god mode cheat on for PC and then shot everyone and beat them with a bat. LOL so i now have very low karma.
I keep on stealling it’s horrible. And I also got let in to the tempenny tower.
What I do to save health is to kill humans and eat there flesh!HaHa “cannible”
