Why do we sing "take me out to the ball game" if we are all ready there?

i mean doesnt this seem like the last place you should be singing this song?

Because singing it by yourself as a ploy to get someone to oblige you makes you look like an idiot.
Tradition. Just a silly, but important tradition.
