You live in the tropics! It’s been as low as -35 below. I live in East Grand Forks MN.
Schools have been closed the past two days here because of the cold. Our wind chill is 38 below right now and my husband is working outside in this!
I am in Chicago. With windchill, it was -40 this morning according to the radio. I believe it is only – 30 now. It’s a bit chilly, yes.
Last night it was a balmy +16F in northern SC. Tonight it’s supposed to be +9F. Expecting the daffodils and crocuses to bloom at any moment.
I’m in Ontario, around 30 minutes away from Toronto, and it’s been around -15 to -20C lately.
@MrMontpetit In SC they have outlawed degrees C so temperatures here won’t be negative.
joke
it’s been 30 here. the high is 57 today.
HA! HAHAHA!
I live in San Luis Obispo and it hit a high of 85 degrees yesterday. This afternoon I will be going swimming.
global warming to the rescue!
It’s not this cold yet, but now I’m kind of hoping it will be soon.
Cold as a witches patootie.
-10ºF this morning at 7AM here in Boston. With windchill, -20ºF.
@Ragedy_Ann: I hope you have Andy near by for warmth. That is flippin’ cold.
Absolutely freezing up here in Canada. It’s been -25 Celsius without the wind factored in, with it factored in we’ve been hitting -35. One place was even at -40 before windchill a few nights ago.
Worst of all, it’s so cold that salt doesn’t work on the roads. Which means there’s a lot of ice. Which means a lot of traffic accidents. Over 200 yesterday in fact.
Hovering at 0° here in Iowa. Yesterday morning when we got up, it was -18. Not a good day for the motor on our furnace to burn out, but it did! Grrr…or I should say, Brrr!
@robmandu 100F August temperatures sounds hot enough, so 310K probably wouldn’t do much for the tourist industry
It’s 17 degrees in Brooklyn, with a wind chill of -5.
It’s cold, but it’s not “Why did I leave the Midwest, again?” cold.
Down here in Florida, the low has been around 22 degrees. I was outraged when I had to scrape ice off my windshield. I didn’t move here for this bullshit!
That being said, those of you reporting temperatures like -40F in Chicago and -40C in Canada make me want to head down to the southern hemisphere.
May I vent about this cold weather please? As I mentioned above, my husband is working outside in this weather. Yesterday the windchill never got warmer than -25 degrees. The “girls” at his work were able to leave at noon, the guys… well, no. They had to work a full day. Nothing is even working because it is too cold. Do the “guys” not feel the same effects of the cold? Ridiculous!
Seriously? That’s gender discrimination. Unless the gals have different jobs from the guys.
I agree Empress, they all pretty much do the same. Farm work. He can’t bitch because he doesn’t want to lose his job. So I told him to call me whenever he needs to vent. I feel guilty cuddled up in my bed fluthering while he’s out in this crap. Warm thoughts for blondesjon.
-12 at 8am in indianapolis with wind chill -27.
It is ‘boogie-freeze-in-your-nose’ 5 degrees
@autumn43: I had never experienced that until this winter. It’s weird, creepy, and a bit… nifty.
@cprevite-Most definitely! Along with an electric blanket.
Negative five in the sun, without wind! Global warming, please.
-10˚ at 7:30, not factoring in the wind chill. Eastern NYS.
It was 8º F (no wind chill) this morning around 6.30 Weather widget currently reporting 20º at 2

I’m up in Burlington,VT. The last couple of days I’ve woken up to temps of about -15, and in the height of the day we get up to about 4.
@EmpressPixie – Well, it’s one way of clearing things up. But if you are congested to begin with – this type of weather can be brutal! Talk about taking your breath away….
@autumn43 No kidding. It was so cold and windy going to my apartment the other day that I was having trouble breathing.
It was 79 degrees here in Phoenix yesterday and it is a balmy 77 degrees right now. It’s been a pleasant winter so far here in the desert. At night it gets down in the high 40’s and low 50’s. Is that considered cold? :o)
@Bluefreedom I am giving you a look right now. It is not a nice one.
I had a feeling like I was going to get that.
Looking for a table to hide under.
I used to send photo links of daffodils each January, when they start blooming, to my net friends up north. Then I discovered it wasn’t really appreciated, so I stopped. :o(
-6 today, and our nearest Vietnamese/Chinese/sushi restaurant burned down in the wee hours of the morning. There was another fire across town, and every fireman in the city, plus reserves, were called out.
In Montreal: Right now, it’s -23 Celsius (-9.4 F), yesterday it was -23 (-9.4 F) Celsius, and on Wednesday it was -23 Celsius (-9.4 F). That’s excluding windchill, by the way.
In Martinsburg, WV: Now 6F (actual temp) at 2:40ish AM 1/17/09.
Yesterday’s low was 5 degrees, high was 14 degrees. Too effing cold.
Not. It was 43c here in sunny Perth, Western Australia yesterday.
Today it’s a cool 30c.
keep warm and snug…
- 5 degrees celsius. Don’t know how much that is in fahrenheit, but it’ss below freezing… And it’s gonna get colder, down to about – 15 C in a couple of days…
Longing for global warming
