There is a drink called “thee royal cure” at a local bar. You fill a martini glass half full of vodka. Then you pour about a tablespoon or two of chambord slowly down the side so it rests at the bottom. Top it off with champagne and your good to go! Also, gin & tonic with extra lime is a staple.

I like L. I. T.s (Long island ice tea)
I like to mix pineapple juice, vodka, bitters, cherry-amaretto, and some whiskey sour mix together. Top it off with a nice champagne for a quick kick. The champagne makes it hit faster.
Sidecar
1 1/2 oz Germain-Robin brandy
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz Cointreau
I’ve always been a fan of Screaming Orgasms (the drinks and those that happen in the bedroom too)
3/4 oz Kahlua
3/4 oz Irish Cream
3/4 oz Amaretto
3/4 oz Vodka
I am beginning to like bourbon a lot—a good Old Fashioned, bourbon with Ale81 (like ginger ale—sort of), or a bourbon ball martini
Bacardi and Coke. Not mixed, though. Just a shot followed by a Coke chaser. Yum!!! Those Bacardi Mojitos are pretty good, too.
I like Long Island Iced Teas and Bahama Mama’s. Both have lots of alcohol and go down easy. Bahama Mama’s are not a big tough guy looking drink but I could give a crap less what people think.
Scotch Neat.….
Scotch Rocks…..
Rusty Nail….
I lilw a good Mai Tai, especially it you put in a dash of amaretto. It’s also hard to go wrong with a Margarita.
And, if it’s done right, a Long Island Ice Tea. If made properly it tastes just like lemonade.
Gotta go. Happy Hour just started.
I like a spicy bloody mary.
Horseradish Bloody Mary-
Can of Snap-e Tom, tsp. of creamed horseradish, squirt of lemon, three martini olives (and a splash of olive juice to make it dirtay) Grey Goose or other good voka, even unflavored Absolut- stir and smickety-smack.
Bloody Maria- Same as above, no horseradish/olives, squeeze and float the lemon slice, drop in a canned or jarred whole medium jalapeno, pour in Cuervo 1800 or better. It’s e-spicy!
Jack and coke
Lynchburg lemonade
Jentleman’s Jack on the rocks
I’m not picky, but I think my favorite would just be pineapple juice, 7-Up and Vodka.
I still need to get into Scotch & Whiskey. It hasn’t hit my tastbuds in the right way yet. I know I’m missing out.
Caipirinhas
Sooo good.
* 5.0 cl (1⅔ fl oz) cachaça or vodka, if you must
* ½ Fresh Lime cut into 4 wedges
* 2 teaspoons Muscovado sugar
Preparation: Place lime and sugar into old fashioned glass and muddle (mash the two ingredients together using a muddler or a wooden spoon). Fill the glass with crushed ice and add the Cachaça.
Let me say that again: SOOOO GOOD!
@purephase: Scotch is whiskey. Whiskey comes (mainly) as Scotch, Bourbon, Sour Mash, Rye, and Irish. There are others and many blended varieties, but those are the main style.
I have a fair amount of cocktail info at my blog – cheers!
They call me The Dude:
2 oz vodka
1 oz coffee liqueur
light cream
Pour vodka and coffee liqueur over ice cubes in an old-fashioned glass. Fill with light cream and serve.
@Knotmyday lurve for smickety-smack.
My fave is a perfectly done martini.
Gentleman Jims in Murfreesboro TN (where I went to college) serves a drink called the
EIGHT LIQUOR ASS KICKER
½ oz. Tequila
½ oz. Peach Schnapps
½ oz. Rum
½ oz Southern Comfort
½ oz. Gin
½ oz Vodka
½ oz Triple Sec
½ oz Mystery Liquor
Sweet & Sour Mix
Sprite
Grenadine
Served with a straw and no smile in a 32 oz “To-go cup”
Dey calls it de “barman’s squirt” roundabout my neck o de woods.
@AstroChuck : I think it is some sort of whiskey… the label is ripped off and I have asked many times and always get the same answer > “Does it really matter”?
Just curious, that’s all. I mean, how am I supposed to follow the recipe if I don’t know what it is?
@tennesseejac – That sounds like a smaller version of the Trash Can Liner Punch I’d get at house parties in college!
Sex on the Beach
and my new favorite:
Coffee, half and half, and Buttershots…divine :)
My favorite cocktail is ALCOHOL. I don’t care what combination thereof.
Just kidding (kinda). I really like margaritas and sex on the beach, and I had a Georgia Ice Tea at a comedy club once, which was a L.I.I.T with peach flavored liquor, which was twelve kinds of tasty. I’ll mix anything with soda and call it a day though, haha.
I’ve got a question about mixed drinks and indie rock: Did Mike Doughty from Soul Coughing make up the Velvet Crush (Kool-Aid and gin) in his 1994 song Mr Bitterness, or was that a drink already? Google’s not giving me an answer.
He may have invented the name but my parents had a couple of friends who used to regularly drink gin and Kool-Aid back in the 70s.
I love a good rum and pineapple, or margarita, or gin and tonic. :-) Love it 50/50.
Oh, and a ‘surfer on acid’ is a yummy fun shot!!
Golden Coke i.e. Goldschlager with a splash. :D
@exitnirvana : Cinnamon + cola? Really? I mean, I like Goldschlager (although my manager at work calls it “The Biggest ‘Fuck You’ to Poor People Ever”), but I can’t imagine it tastes really great with cola…
Tits- Lurve for sharing what your boss says about Goldschläger. I’m going to use that. He spells out the way I’ve always felt about that stuff. What’s next, a schnapps with diamond dust?
@AstroChuck : He is a comedian as well as a pizzeria manager, so yeah. He’s quite hilarious. I have, admittedly, only ever had one bottle of Goldschlager (I’m not a huge cinnamon fan), but it was really pretty, haha.
Grey goose, 7, splash of cran.
Nice and simple. As a bartender I can tell you that when someone orders a drink with a cute/silly name and has 12 ingredients, we think you are silly. You aren’t impressing anyone by coming up with something obscure. You just look like you are trying way to hard.
Red Headed Slut, with peach schnapps, Jagermeister® herbal liqueur and cranberry juice.
It may have a silly name, but it’s very tasty!!
@TitsMcGhee
Yeahhhh no one believes me (or even knew it existed) before I made them try it. But I have to say that it is absolutely delicious. :)
I guess I’ll have to take your word for it, and maybe try it – maaaaybe. Haha.
@soapchef- try a (good) vodka martini, with half (good) chablis and half dry Martini and Rossi vermouth. One spanish olive.
I like it
@Knotmyday Reeeeeallly? Veeeery interesting. I must investigate.
Does Goldschlager and Fireball taste the same? If not, what’s the difference? That fireball liquor tastes just like the candy fireball. Sweet, cinnamony, and goes down like fire! Awesome…
My favorite drink is a non frozen Mango-Peach Margarita w/ extra salt on the rim!
