Dvd burner?

how do I find out if my dvd burner is plus or negative?

On a Mac:
Apple menu -> About this Mac -> More info
This opens System Profiler. Then you can choose Hardware -> Disc Burning and it will tell you.

On Windows try this:

I’m not sure about checking on Linux.
