“Ubuntu is a community developed, Linux-based operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops and servers. It contains all the applications you need – a web browser, presentation, document and spreadsheet software, instant messaging and much more.”

thanx for using my suggestion! Ubuntu is a distrobution of linux that is free and can be share and edited to your liking. You make it look like mac or windows or anything you wish. I highly recomend it for anyone. It is so cool!
so its an operating system?
get it! its so cool. Its a little advanced though so id stick to the basics and expirement with it
will it replace vista or can i switch back and fourth or something?
any distro of linux that I’ve used has always had a boot menu to select which operating system you’d like to use. So you can keep vista on your partition, and just choose to boot into Ubuntu upon startup. And simply restart your computer if you want to go back, or you can always get a copy of VMware to run both at the same time.
@icebox355 Breathtaking. If I could give all my lurve to one user, it would be you.
