In your small cabin?
I was reading a book this morning that referenced this Yeat’s poem:
Lake Isle Of Inisfree (Circa.1890).
I will arise and go now,and go to Inisfree,
and a small cabin build there,of clay and wattles made:
Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee,
and live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And I shall have some peace there,for peace comes dropping slow,
dropping from the veils of the morning to where the Cricket sings;
There midnight’s all a glimmer, and noon a purple glow,
and evening full of the Linnit’s wings.
I will arise and go now,for always night and day,
I hear lake waters lapping with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart’s core.
I was wondering what others might find necessary in their place of refuge.

A laptop and wi-fi services, of course. :P But that does sound like a nice cabin…
long underwear, matches, aluminum foil, onions, potatoes, pitcher, fresh water, hard candy
My spinning wheel, my cooking gear, garden tools, treadle sewing machine, knitting needles, loom, books, and husband (if there’s room).
I’d want Internet, though. Really bad.
Mrs. Harp, a cat, tea, a fireplace. Give me that much and I’ll figure the rest out later.
Dragonflies, fireflies, a wild garden, a large clear pond and fat wooden shutters.
And one of those libraries with the sliding ladders and balconies.
Plenty of paper, pencils, a pocket knife, and a whetstone. A chair and small table.
A bright lantern, a small wood stove, a teakettle.
Basic utensils, a plate, bowl, and cup. A cot, warm blankets, plenty of pillows.
And books, all I could carry. Including a thick anthology of poetry with “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” in it.
My woman and kids, gardening equpment, canning and smoking equip, kitchen kit, firearms and ammo, bow and arrows, knives, ax, saw, G.I. medic 1st aid kit, clear water stream and/or lake, Big trees-pine and fir and lots of wild game.
