Nope, wikipedia had it posted as “anonymous.” I looked up the origins of limericks (unknown, but popularized by Edward Lear. (interesting…I couldn’t get the page to link because of the parentheses in the URL…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limerick_(poetry))

I think they’re interesting because the construction is like a puzzle.

I wanted to write you a song,
But that genre would be way too long.
And haiku is too small,
With the counting and all,
So this limerick came in very strong!
