To those in the Los Angeles area: Are there any decent radio stations in our area?

Asked by tinyfaery (44242points) January 22nd, 2009

My absolute favorite radio station, Indie 103.1, has gone off the air. I know all the basic, popular stations, which suck. I know about KCRW and 1003.1. What else is out there? I live in No Ho. Is there some small station out there that I don’t know about?

KROC, I believe you can find it at 106.7 fm

That’s an obvious. I’ve listened to that station for almost 25 years, even though it mostly sucks.

I’m old but I listent to KLOS, 95.5, the home of Mark and Brian. Clasic Rock.

Wow. When I lived in SoCal I never turned the dial from KCRW.

I pretty much leave my radio on 97.1, music on the radio kind of sucks these days so it’s a good alternative IMO, but my mom listens to 93.1 (I think) or whatever jackFM is on.

@chicadelplaya It’s actually KROQ, but the 106.7 is right on the money :). I really only like it for the morning (and now afternoon) show though, Kevin and Bean.

I have every one of those stations on my radio, except 97.1.

So I guess the answer to my question is no. There are no decent radio stations. :(

I mostly listen to KCRW. I always learn something new.

It doesn’t play a ton of music though if that’s what you’re looking for.

I could not find a good one when I lived there. I recommend Pandora if you have access to the internet.
