What should I do with empty DVD cases?

Asked by irondavy (727points) January 24th, 2009

I want to move all my DVDs/games/CDs to a sleeve to save space and I don’t know what to do with the cases. What are my options? Tossing them seems wasteful but I don’t know what else I can do.

MAKE A WALL THINGAMAGIGY!!!
OMFG
Seriously, like, stack them up on your wall, so it’s like a wall paper thing. How awesome would that look!
All the covers of your favourite movies :D

I believe they’re probably all made of plastic and in that case you could probably recycle them I think. Don’t they melt down plastics and make new products from them?

@Bluefreedom they do, but I bet at least 3 different plastics are found in DVD cases, in which case authorities get annoyed when you ask to recycle them.
It applies to other things like milk cartons and shampoo bottles. They;re all different, so it’s very hard to simply ‘melt down’ plastics.

Infact, it’s impossible.

I’m using mine to make a raft. Let’s go take it down the river to loser’s fort.

My daughter use them to fix the uneven dresser – her doing – she broke it while moving her furniture around. It was unbalanced, now it’s perfect!

Other than that – I’m going to use mine to build my padded cell. I’m collecting bubble wrap and “pouches” of air, that are used to ship things. My personal time out cell.

Great thing about living in San Francisco
