i havent even had one minute, but im not concerned with “fame” in the typical way
from what i hear fame “puts you there where things are hollow” and i dont want any part of that
I had 22 seconds of it (so says my friend, who timed her reading) when MSNBC posted my photo and comments right after the financial crisis struck. That’s probably it for me. I am still writing a novel, but I don’t believe I actually do want to do any book tours and talk shows, so maybe I should just stick to short stories. It’s pretty hard to get really famous that way, and so far I am not in any danger of it.
At one time, because of my position, my circle of fame was between 10,000 and 50,000 people, but now it’s nearer 400, and that is plenty.
I would say no. I don’t really want it though. It would be fun to have a video blog with some adds on it though. It would be interesting to see what people think of my life. I am not much different from the rest of the people.
I was on CNN in the background @ 6:00 am
No. I’d be cool with a Radiohead-type fame for my work, though.
Does my fluther interview count? Duration depends on how fast you read.
I won a contest in Real Simple magazine (for having the best answer to “Best tips for a good marriage?” or something like that). They posted a pic of me along with my answer. That’s about it. I won a book about cleaning, which I despise :)
@augustlan – Well, as the cocktail napkin I’ve pinned to my fridge says: “A clean house is the sign of a wasted life.” So I make my roommates do it! No… no I don’t, we share the chores.
