I had some really good cabbage the other day, I finely chopped some bacon, fried it then added some shredded cabbage until it had gone slightly soft. Then served warm with a nice steak. The outcome = WIN

@joeysefika, that sounds almost like german potato salad, but with cabbage instead of potatoes. Yummy!

I have a really great broccoli salad recipe and I’ve mixed the dressing with a bag of shredded broccoli slaw with good results. Here’s the dressing recipe. Best if made the night before.

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup raspberry or fruited vinegar (any mild vinegar)
Combine ingredients and chill for several hours.

Try this cole slaw dressing. Its a PITA, but worth it.

Texas Cole Slaw
2 garlic cloves
2 teaspoons cornstarch
5 oz heavy cream
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons honey
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup soft butter
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 teaspoon cayenne
salt and white pepper to taste
11/4 cup mayonnaise
Peel and mince garlic. Dissolve cornstarch in cream. Put egg, sugar, honey and dry mustard in non-aluminum saucepan and whisk until smooth. Ad garlic, cream and vinegar. Cook and whisk over low heat till mixture coat the back of a spoon. Add lemon juice. Whisk in butter, celery seed, cayenne, salt and pepper. Strain into bowl and cool. Stir in mayonnaise.

This is without a doubt the best cole slaw dressing I have ever tasted. I skip the straining part.
bon appetit!

Standard shredded cabbage, carrots, zucchini, beets (raw) and a vinaigrette with a handful of caraway seeds.
