Simulatory stock portfolio app for Mac?

Asked by makemo (531points) January 26th, 2009

I was wondering if somebody knows of an app with which you can simulate stock portfolio investments, on the Mac.

I.e. one where you can put your talents (?) on a testdrive without burning (or winning) real dough.

There are plenty of websites that allow you to do this. I would suggest doing it at a website unless there is a specific reason why you want an app for it. There is a site called updown.com that allows you to play will $1,000,000.00 and you can actually win real money, no risk, if you beat the market.

I’d suggest to use a web site because you’re going to need market data to track the performance of your portfolio(s). An app will have to have a connection to data sources and depending on the breadth of your fantasy portfolio it may have to pull in a lot of data frequently.
