Why must i do this?
when I run, which is frequently, I find myself repetitively needing to spit out phlegm that seems to collect in the back of my throat. does anyone else have this problem?

It sounds like all that huffing and puffing you do is making evaporated spit. Mmmmmmmm.
Yeah, I have that problem all the time. I’ve always had finicky sinuses; I suffer from seasonal sniffles every year between January and mach. I’m not allergic to anything, I think it’s just the cold weather in general. The only real abnormality that I can claim in that area is abnormally large tonsils, but I don’t know if it’s related…
I tend to get that when I am dehydrated. And I mean outside of running.
I would have to second btko. If you’re hydrated enough, mucus runs down the back of your throat without you knowing it. That’s why when you have a cold, standard instructions are “drink plenty of fluids” because it helps thin out the gunk.
yes, i know what you are talking about. me too. i have allergies and sinus complications. the first 15 minutes of my run, i am clearing stuff constantly. like btko, i am dehydrated from time to time, so yeah, um, stay hydrated?
no, but my nose always runs when my legs are running. it’s like it’s jealous or something. i have to carry tissues with me. ugh.
You may have excersize induced asthma. If you are usually phlegm-y in your lungs, the running (or jumping) kind of jostles it about, breaking it up and mucking up the works.
