If you were Burris, would you even want Obama's Senate seat?
Personally, if Blagojevich, with all the awful controversy going on, appointed me, I wouldn’t take the seat. I wouldn’t want to make my debut in the Senate with such a dark cloud of scandal hanging over me, hurting my reputation by association. I feel like no one would take me seriously or think I had any right to be there. Thoughts?

As long as he did nothing wrong (which should be obvious from the tapes), why not?
I’m not saying he did anything wrong, because I really don’t think he did; I just wouldn’t want to go into the Senate for the first time in these circumstances. Obama originally said Blagojevich’s appointment shouldn’t be accepted, so it doesn’t seem like he’ll get a lot of support. So basically I’m just asking if that was the kind of entry you yourself would want to make in the Senate.
The Senate is full of fighters, I wouldn’t worry about it too much if I were him.
Everyone who talks to him says he’s qualified so I don’t think it will be that big of a deal.
Plus the benefits of getting into the Senate far outweigh the temporary distraction.
You have to remember that if I were Burris, I’d have my head up my own a$$ just like Blago (well, to be fair, maybe not just like Blago.) All I’m saying is if I had an ego the size of his, sure, I’d take the seat.
