Why does the tv remote suck so much?

If you want to type things, get a keyboard (or do whatever it is from your computer). I actually love the Apple remote – simplicity rules! That being said, I think 2 more buttons for dedicated volume control would have been nice.

I like the Apple remote, but it sure feels cheap. Maybe it will get an aluminium update too!

The ATV remote, like the Wiimote and other controllers, simply isn’t designed for text input but is used regardless. You can get a half decent wireless keyboard pretty cheap nowadays – I couldn’t comment on compatibility though.
