What has Pitchfork been down so often this week?

Asked by eponymoushipster (20307points) January 29th, 2009

Several times a day this week, when you go to Pitchfork, they have their “We’ll Be Back Shortly” page up, and now, it’s just plain ol’ 404-ing. WTF?

Seems like a server problem. I noticed that their Pitchfork.tv endeavour is still up and running though. Maybe someone there knows what’s up?

Is anyone a fan of Muxtape? He’s just been through a huge legal battle, but the website relaunched recently and it’s a great place to find new music. Not much yet, but give it time!

@Foolaholic i liked muxtape 1.0, when you could upload your own tracks. now you have to use the artists provided by muxtape. which is rather limited. Girl Talk and Dr. Dan aside, it’s rather limited.

@eponymoushipster Well that’s the record labels’ fault. Muxtape will be opening up to more artists shortly, and I’m looking forward to finding some new stuff on there.

@richardhenry yeah, time will tell. the labels are jerks, to be sure. the concept, with question, is a great idea – i just want to see how things come off with the new model.
