Yeah I’ve been looking for a new job (sadly I only have an English degree) and I keep seeing jobs for people with “IT” experience. What exactly does “IT” mean, and what does someone who is an IT do?

IT – Information Technology
And I have to learn to type faster too.
Information Technology. Generally it means knowledge of computers, networking, the Internet, etc. The problem with the phrase is that it covers so many subtopics that it’s very hard to pinpoint exactly what they mean by IT.
Link you can get a 6 month certification in microsoft or other computer systems and most companies that are hiring Help Desk positions would consider you.
I work in IT and i only have a 2 year and certifications.
Good Luck!
What ever IT is you must have IT!
IT department at my company are a bunch of muppets. Recently set in a laptop to be replaced with a new lightweight version, and all they did was send the old one back with it’s CD drive removed!!
@AngryNugget think they know you think they are muppets? very funny response, thanks from an IT guy
@JoeyDesignsStuff thanks but I’ve decided not to get into IT. I don’t want people to think I’m a muppet lol.
