Cardio. And LOTS of it. And it should be prolonged cardio, not just sprinting or anything.

Also eat breakfast to keep yourself from storing fat on your belly because you’re still in a catabolic state.

(I had this same question and asked a personal trainer friend of mine and this is what he told me).

Oh and from what I hear ab machines/weights/exercises do nothing because they add muscle and don’t do much in the way of burning fat. Cardio is what burns the fat most effectively).

Just an idea…. but what I see with guts hanging out over the belt is people for whatever reason think that they don’t have to “suck it in” and hold it.

Unless you have some pretty awesome abs, you’re gonna have to work a bit to hold that belly back. Suck it in, hold it in, it’ll take a while and some determination, but, eventually, you will suck it in without thinking about it.

It isn’t gonna remove any fat layers but at least your belly won’t be polishing your belt buckle.

I eat healthy, don’t drink at all, run 3 or 4 times a week and still have more fat on my belly than I would like. I have come to the conclusion, that I simply eat too damned much!! I think the only way I am going to lose it is to eat less. Now that I have realized how easy it is, I will get to work on it immediately.

Eating healthy. I’m always on the run and never eating healthy.. missing meals mostly.. which awarded me with a little gut… but when I went to “boot camp” I was filed into the defac with everyone else 3 times a day and I ate.. it revived my metabolism and I actually lost weight by eating.. granted I was eating good meals.. not 4 kinds of pie stacked up with syrup on top.. it’s the easiest answer in the world.. it’s acting on it that is difficult.. eat healthy.. exercise..regularly…

First of all, exercing once or twice a week just isn’t enough to trim that belly fat. I would start trying to exercise every day if you can. This sounds difficult, but I would just buy some at-home appliances: an exercise ball, some weights and a resistance band. If you really want to trim your waist-line, do short cardio bursts (jumping jacks or just marching in place for two minutes) between sets of crunches on the ball. There are many techniques for using the ball, and supposedly they work more muscles than just normal crunches because of the instability.

Okay, now you might wonder why you should do short cardio bursts? Because this makes you burn more fat and gets your blood pumping. It sets you up for those crunches.

Also, you can eat healthy but still eat way too much. I would try to figure out if you can cut out 100 calories out of your diet too. They did a study on what people ate, and it really didn’t matter what they ate, it only mattered how many calories they consumed. So, if you ate one burger and fries per day you would still lose weight, even if all day you just ate monster chicken salads, but you ate way more of them. If that makes sense.

Anyway, even if you did the ab weights every day for six months, you would see an improvement, but just do it more often and eat less!
