So the guys are playing Rock Band, and they are playing along to Sweet Home Alabama. It made me think “this is a great party song”. What is your favorite party song?

Whatever You Like, by TI
I don’t know what it is, I just love it!
the verve – drug’s don’t work .. and it’s not because of the lyrics.. it’s because I was video-taping during a party once and that song happened to be playing.. these years later many of the people in the video have died, been divorced, gotten married, had children, went on to be successful.. so for me the song just struck a chord that continues to vibrate
closing time – semisonic for when the party is wrapping up.. same party =D
Untouched-The Veronicas
That is my absolute favorite song right now, very addicting.
Louie Louie – The Kingsmen
Young MC – Bust a Move
and
Cypress Hill – Insane in the Membrane
:D
Conga by Gloria Estephan!
House of Pain – Jump Around
“Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin, I came to win, battle me thats a sin”

@KrystaElyse If you want it baby you’ve got it. I missed you adding Cypress Hill, love it!
@loser Blondesjon just laughed so hard he peed a little.
I used to work with some programmers from Texas. Their parties always featured Jerry Jeff Walker so I think of that as party music too even though it is not my style.
Safety Dance- Men Without Hats
Somehow the Beastie Boys have not been mentioned, so put me down for some Brass Monkey and No Sleep Til Brooklyn
<bowdow… dow-dowwwwwwwwwww>
@funkdaddy Brass Monkey is listed in my high school year book as top three songs of 1987. flashback!
Situation by Yaz
Everybody Dance Now by C&C Music Factory
Pump Up The Volume by M.A.R.R.S
and the granddaddy (of the last 25 years):
It Takes Two by Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock Whoo! Yeah!
@aprilsimnel OMFG. I saw Rob Base in concert in 1988. My friends and I were the only white girls standing on our seats, groovin!
You guys are making me feel so much younger tonight, thanks!
@jonsblond – It Takes Two was the standard “getting ready for the party” music for me in college. It put me in the right mood.
@Ashpea9288 good but I am goin with Swagga Like Us!.. I usually don’t like popular rap but TI did a damn good job on his album
Play that funky music white boy :)
And nobody mentions The Humpty Dance by Digitial Underground?
Blasphemy
@Sakata I disown that song because my knickname in college was Humpty and so if I hear that song i am assumed to dance, which I never did, but people thought I should haha
@WastaBwoy by the way that song is by Bob Marley and the Wailers and not the Toyes orig and covered by such great bands as Sublime so whom ever they are had best recognize…
or I’m an asshole but nonetheless its Bob Marley first…
Party Town not the greatest version but it gets the point across
‘Shout’ by the Isley Brothers (but the Blues Brothers version is better)
The Hamster Dance is a pretty sweet party song as well :P
@damien. They do a pretty good version of ‘Shout’ in the movie “Animal House” too.
The party song of my is The old albumes of Prodigy. If it is special party than Daft punk..
ron browz songs
laday gaga – just dance
pitbull – the anthem
jowell y randy – no te veo
@jamzzy god thats a horrible playlist…
Sean Paul – We Be Burnin’.
I’m surprised at how much I like this one. I had that on repeat for a while when it came out, and I’m not one for much top 40, but that song always makes me dance.
scary because Sean Paul loves horrible music and coincidentally buttholes
@jamzzy yeah I was just being a dick and joking around… it’s all good! But I really do think Sean Paul likes buttholes…
@madcapper – I just like to dance to the song, dude. Couldn’t care less who or what he schtupps.
I really don’t want to get into this, but please, if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it. There is a difference between disagreeing/arguing and dissing.
lmao @ buttholes, schtupps, & dissing
@90s_kid I don’t feel that your last comment had anything to do with Party Songs. Gotta focus a bit better on the topic.
Brass Monkey – Beastie Boys
Satisfaction by the Stones. If it doesn’t get you moving, you need the paddles.
Girltalk -Feed the Animals. Great party cd, its like having your own DJ :)
Listen to the Music-Doobie Brothers
