Best party song?

Asked by jonsblond (44316points) January 30th, 2009 from iPhone

So the guys are playing Rock Band, and they are playing along to Sweet Home Alabama. It made me think “this is a great party song”. What is your favorite party song?

Whatever You Like, by TI

I don’t know what it is, I just love it!

the verve – drug’s don’t work .. and it’s not because of the lyrics.. it’s because I was video-taping during a party once and that song happened to be playing.. these years later many of the people in the video have died, been divorced, gotten married, had children, went on to be successful.. so for me the song just struck a chord that continues to vibrate

closing time – semisonic for when the party is wrapping up.. same party =D

I used to work with some programmers from Texas. Their parties always featured Jerry Jeff Walker so I think of that as party music too even though it is not my style.

@aprilsimnel OMFG. I saw Rob Base in concert in 1988. My friends and I were the only white girls standing on our seats, groovin!
You guys are making me feel so much younger tonight, thanks!

aprilsimnel's avatar

@jonsblondIt Takes Two was the standard “getting ready for the party” music for me in college. It put me in the right mood.

Smoke 2 joints-The Toyes

madcapper's avatar

@Sakata I disown that song because my knickname in college was Humpty and so if I hear that song i am assumed to dance, which I never did, but people thought I should haha

madcapper's avatar

@WastaBwoy by the way that song is by Bob Marley and the Wailers and not the Toyes orig and covered by such great bands as Sublime so whom ever they are had best recognize…

madcapper's avatar

or I’m an asshole but nonetheless its Bob Marley first…

I’m surprised at how much I like this one. I had that on repeat for a while when it came out, and I’m not one for much top 40, but that song always makes me dance.

madcapper's avatar

scary because Sean Paul loves horrible music and coincidentally buttholes

jamzzy's avatar

@madcapper maybe our parties are different

madcapper's avatar

@jamzzy yeah I was just being a dick and joking around… it’s all good! But I really do think Sean Paul likes buttholes…

aprilsimnel's avatar

@madcapper – I just like to dance to the song, dude. Couldn’t care less who or what he schtupps.

madcapper's avatar

haha understandable

90s_kid's avatar

I really don’t want to get into this, but please, if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say it. There is a difference between disagreeing/arguing and dissing.

Sakata's avatar

lmao @ buttholes, schtupps, & dissing

@90s_kid I don’t feel that your last comment had anything to do with Party Songs. Gotta focus a bit better on the topic.
