Am I able to do this. I do not want my email forwarded to my phone. I want text messages that are sent to my phone to be forwarded to my email. I would also like to be able to respond to them via email.
I have Verizon Wireless as the cell phone company.
Gmail as the email.

yeah you can, just type in your email to where you would regularly put phone numbers
Uhmmm…that doesn’t make sense…Where do I regularly put phone numbers?
like in a regular text message where you pick who your sending the text to. instead of picking from your contacts type in the email
Then I have to forward it to myself. I want to have it do it automatically
Mmm. I don’t think that’s possible, but hey, I could be wrong.
I would call up Verizon’s customer service and ask them.
WTH?? This is so simple. You do it just as jamzzy says: hit Forward and on the ‘To’ line type in your e-mail address. Your phone can’t send texts to your e-mail automatically…at least not that I know of and I have Verizon. So, you will have to type in the e-mail address and most likely save it in your contacts or phone book so you don’t have to type it in every time you forward a text. Hope this helps!
I think what traveosa is asking to do is like how you have call forwarding. I have two phones. I want all calls from phone 1 to ring automatically to phone 2. That’s simple.
Now I want to do the same with all the texts that arrive to phone 1 – to go to phone 2. Not so simple.
i have verizon prepaid and i have been tryin to figure it out too… to everyone tryin to confuse traveosa. were not wanting to forward a message to email. we want to send a recieve the messages that go to our phone in our email ya know how you can forward your number to a different phone, there ya go you might understand now i dont know if what i want to do is possible but i figured there are some people out there that can do pretty much anything they want on the computer so there has to be a way…if anyone ever figures it out let me know
try texting 8888 in your mess. you text CCspace then your email address make sure there is only one space between cc and your email address or it wont work
