iTunes drives me insane! It has a mind of it’s own, last week it decided it wanted to delete all of the music on my phone, while I was istening to it! WTF?!!?!?
Try downloads.com they might have a program for your problem. Otherwise, you could just jailbreak your phone I guess.
How did you get your iPod to sync with 5 different computers, all the ones I have owned will only sync with one at a time. I don’t have an iPhone but I just assumed they would only sync with one computer also. Or did you mean it synced with 5 different computers at 5 different times. They say this is to protect copyrighted songs and the like. I think it is damned annoying also. Just had an old G5 that had all music, movies on it, now I have one iPod that was synced to it and if I try to load something new on it from a different computer it won’t do it unless I erase everything that is already on it!
umm my iPod touch only syncs with one computer. How did you do that!? If you sync a iPod to a computer and put stuff on it the sync it to another compute and put more stuff on it it will delete all the songs from the other computer.
I don’t think you understand the meaning of “sync”. ;)
If you sync your iPod/iPhone to one computer, and then sync it to another, that would necessarily replace the contents from the first computer (or it’s not “sync’d”).
There are many third-party utilities to help you get around the limitation of syncing to one machine, however.
@Maverick – I agree with your definition of syncing, the replacing option is the only one I have encountered when trying to sync with more than 1 computer. But I am interested in the third-party utilities that by pass this. I’ve not been able to find any! What do you use?
I don’t use them, but I remember there was one called iPod Access – pretty sure it supported iPhone too.
