What reality or game show would you like to be on?

Asked by jonsblond (44316points) February 4th, 2009 from iPhone

SuperMouse’s previous question about Survivor gave me the idea for this one. If you could be on any reality show or game show, which one would you choose.

I think I would have the best chance of winning on Amazing Race. Plus, I could travel the world. I think it would be amazing!

Double Dare! back in the day, man. I’da found the flag in the booger nose!

I was on Jeopardy!. I won the trivia aspect of the game, for the most part, but failed epically at the betting part of the game.

@cwilbur That’s so awesome! Lurve

The Price Is Right, Name That Tune, Jeopardy. But those I’ve said.

When I was home sick from school as a kid, there were a lot of cool game shows on: $25,000 Pyramid, Tattletales, Hollywood Squares… but none were as cool as that double-entendre behemoth: Match Game.

“I’m a mechanic at a gas station, and the other day I was tuning up a customer’s car when she asked me, ‘Would you put some ______ into my ______?’ ”

I swear, half the celebrity panel must have played that show with martini pitchers sitting underneath their chairs.

Some of those Japanese game shows with obstacle courses would be fun. In fact, I’d love to build an obstacle course in the backyard! I would have included this in my question, but I just remembered those shows.

‘Family Fued’ but only at the end when you have to guess the last answers to win the big money.

Amazing Race or Wheel of Fortune

Iron Chef America

Either as one of the judges or an assistant to the chef.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cprevite awesome. (btw, there’s an iron chef game for the wii now!)

jonsblond's avatar

@eponymoushipster lol I forgot about that sketch!

@cprevite I’d be a judge on Iron Chef any day. Especially if Jeffrey Steingarten was a judge also. He would tear me to pieces for my lack of knowledge when it comes to cooking. But it would be fun.

@jonsblond that’s classic farley. “i don’t speak japanese!”

Amazing Race would be cool. I’d also like Fear Factor without the eating “stuff” parts – the stunts looked like fun!

Old school Family Feud, then again, exactly how many people did Richard Dawson (I think that is right) kiss? Price is Right – just because I’ve always wanted to be on there since I was a kid.

I’m so not allowed to ever be on Deal or No Deal. I’d take the offer, too soon. My husband would pass on everything – even if it was $900,000 – just to say he went for the million. He’s leave with a dollar. For the sake of our marriage, neither of us could ever be on that show!

Oh…Cash Cab. I love that show!

THE REAL WORLD

Jeopardy and Amazing Race.
I’ve got my application all ready for the next round of Amazing Race. I’m crossing my fingers that my husband and I are selected!

Amazing Race as long as I was doing it with my mother….we wouldn’t win, but we also wouldn’t get kicked off….we’d be too entertaining. We’re really good at getting lost and we have a lot of fun!

I would feel bad for the camera man assigned to us…we would end up on different continents without knowing how we got there…

cookieman's avatar

@eponymoushipster and @jonsblond We should concoct some kind of
IRON CHEF FLUTHER

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cprevite cool! What’s the concept, do tell!?

is it recipes, or coming up with the most answers in a fixed period of time?

cookieman's avatar

I’m thinking we post (as a question) the main ingredient (as they reveal on the show).

Flutherers have a certain amount of time (24 hours?) to post 3 recipes (appetizer, main course, dessert) of what they would make from that ingredient.

Links to photographs of the completed recipe would get bonus points.

At the end of the allotted time, our judges would meet via PM to decide the winner (and maybe two runners up). Give the judges say another 24 hours to decide.

Now we just need three fellow Flutherers to act as judges. Someone with food experience. Or maybe just senior Flutherers (the 10K club).

I’m thinking out loud here (and hijacking the thread) – SO SORRY @jonsblond

jonsblond's avatar

@cprevite Highjack all you want, love the idea!

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cprevite i love the idea. i think the 3 recipe thing is pretty easy though, since with Google and AllRecipes you could get whatever you wanted (the latter having an ingredient search tool).
But the photograph idea is great. Actually this goes to something was saying in another thread yesterday: what if we could post video answers (inline, not just linked) to a question.

- imagine if you could watch a video of someone making the recipe they suggested!?

As for judges, either way. If the big guns are into it, cool. Too, whoever posts the ingredient should be a judge, and then two others.

thoughts?

ooohhh!!! I love the idea!!

Amazing Race. I’d get to travel all over the world and see all kinds of cool things. The challenges would be pretty fun to participate in too.

cookieman's avatar

@eponymoushipster That’s very true about the ease of scoffing recipes from the ‘net.
Hmmm, think, think.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cprevite here’s an idea i just had as I pulled a homemade loaf of bread out of the oven: what if we choose a core ingredient (or two) and you have to come up with a full meal as cheaply as possible. or something to that effect – kinda mix the “what are you cutting back on?” thread into this. follow?

eponymoushipster's avatar

@cprevite ever see the show from the UK, “Ready Set Cook”? they give them a bag of ingredients (random stuff – just 3, 4 things) and they have to create a meal with it.

allows for creativity and gives others good ideas too.

Legends of The Hidden Temple! That show was great!

Wheel of Fortune, in a heartbeat! As long as I didn’t have bad luck with the wheel, I would SO win on that show!

Mtl_zack's avatar

The Price Is Right, but like a year ago, when Bob Barker was the host. Drew Carey sucks, and he’s already been in 3 shows, of which he’s been host of 2.

I would “come on down”, whilst screaming and waving my arms in the air and give Bob a big hug. In preparation, I would spend hours in the grocery store memorizing prices, so I could get all the money and the NEW CAR. Then I would spin that wheel as hard as I can.

I LOVE YOU BOB!
