As I just posted in another thread.. he’s either getting a new-to-him used truck or Eagles concert tickets. Or lots of sex. It’s a triple tie.

A little get-away to Florida for some golf (for him). Did I mention there’s a great spa there, too (yes, it’s self serving)?

Our anniversary is just days after Valentine’s Day. We usually just have a quiet evening and move along to the next day; however, this year, he surprised me and said he has plans for us – HE took care of all the details! WOOHOO!

I’m finishing a blanket for him. I know it doesn’t sound romantic, but our dog digested his last one and he really wanted a new one. He seems to like the things I knit, so I’m finishing his blanket, early and giving it to him for Valentine’s Day.

@bythebay – that sounds great – for both of you! :)

@cak: Very convenient, I know! ;) And how lovely for you to be surprised; enjoy!

Usually we stay home but this year my soul mate and I are blasting down to Cancun for a 48 hour date. Life is good!

We usually go out somewhere swanky to eat, but this year I just wanted to do a quiet dinner (although still a bit swanky) at home.

Sure loser!

Dog's avatar

So @petethepothead & @loser – what are you doing for Valentines day ?

loser's avatar

I don’t know. I guess Pete might like a gift wrapped bud and some chocolates.

arnbev959's avatar

I think I’m going to get loser some flowers and some lurve.

cyndyh's avatar

Are you guys celebrating March 14 together, too? :^>

loser's avatar

Umm, I think we’ll just stick with Valentines for now. But maybe we’ll go out and get steaks that day…

cyndyh's avatar

LOL! Yeah, steak is a good thing, too. I’m sorry. Sometimes my kidding around gets to be a little much. Here’s wishing you a happy day every day. Cheers!

It totally made me laugh though!!!

cyndyh's avatar

Cool. A laugh is worth a lot some days. Cheers!

My SO is taking me out to dinner at a Brazilian steak house and getting me something from J.Crew. he missed my birthday as far as gifts are concerned, so, I’m guessing he feels obligated to make it up now, although, I don’t know why… I’m getting him the chamomile mist sleeping spray from Bath and Body Works, and a dark, cherry wood 5×7 picture frame with a photograph of us in it. He’s in college, so he needs the sleeping spray, and he doesn’t have a picture of us in his dorm room. Problems solved. :)

not sure… I’ve always been disappointed on Valentine’s Day…and that’s even when I’ve been in a relationship, so i don’t hold out much hope..being a woman…. i don’t know i think women are probably more disappointed than men perhaps…(although of course it could just be my experience) because we are generally more thoughtful and well-prepared and organised…

i will do something for my s.o and i will hold out hope…but I’ll be crying into my duvet if i’m disappointed yet again…

Hoping to go to Downtown Denver and see a hiphopper P.O.S. The boyfriend and I both love him, and the tickets are $10.

Nothing. It’s just another day.

@lynneblundell Honey, if you think men care a whit about Valentines Day, you are wrong. There are many who “perform”, me among them sometimes, but that’s what it is, simply a performance because it’s expected. If you want genuine romance try one of the other 364 days when “expected demonstations” are not required by promotions by Hallmark and all the chocolate folks….and the expectations they engender among women.
