Best affordable place to stay/visit outside Puerto Vallarta?
I have a week in the Puerto Vallarta area. I’m considering visiting Sayulita, Bucerias, San Panch/San Francisco, Yelapa, or Punta de Mita. We are 28 and 31 yr old female friends. Any ideas of where to visit and sleep? I would love to find a palapa/bungalow for a good price. Any ideas?

Pardon, why not visit beautiful downton Fridley, Minnesota?
We’ve got it it all, Music, Bling, Dance, Famous personalities!!
Come to Fridley!! You will not be dissapointed!! Although, it
is a tad cold, this time of year,........... but, we’ll give you a reprieve ticket, good for a free ride down our Mississippi river barges. Hey, it’s the “upper Mississippi Jam” at your service. Lamont Cranston asap!!
Forget Mexico!! It’s Minnesota all the way!!
I’ve stayed in Sayulita and I can’t suggest it enough.
It’s inexpensive, really accessible, a reasonable drive from Puerto Vallarta (you can take a cheap bus there) and has a lot of amenities – especially if you don’t want to rough it entirely. It’s not as built up as many of the other Mexican tourist spots like Cancun, Ixtapa, etc. and still retains some of the small fishing village/surfing village charm that it started to get attention for in the 60’s and 70’s. A lot of people in the small town square speak english and it’s easy to get a local Mexican experience, mixed with some of the comforts from home, if you need them.
They do have really inexpensive bungalows and palapas right by the beach – as well as great deals on breezy houses, within a 5 minute walk of the town center area. Also, if you feel like doing some low-key, girly spa stuff on one of those days, you can do that too. Check out this link for more info.
La Cruz de Huanacauxtle, it’s in Bucarias on the way to punta Mita(which has perhaps on of the finest beaches, easily the best diving, but not cheap) you can find some info here and here
I spent some time there, the restaurant is decent and the people are friendly. and it’s safe. plus it is a fifteen minute drive to punta Mita, you’ll really enjoy it there. I’m envious…(you’ll do better renting a private house, there are many to choose from)
