What are you working toward- life goals?

Most of us have goals that we make and meet throughout life. We start out with riding a bike and after we meet that we want to drive a car etc.
As we become adults we make life goals- career of choice, lifestyle of choice, educational goals.
I am NOT referring to DREAMS or WISHES such as to be rich and live in a mansion. Only actual attainable goals that you are in the process of achieving.
They do not have to be big- but they do have to be attainable.
Example: It is my current life goal to reach worldwide circulation with my art. Thus my spouse can retire and we will be able to travel as I work.
So- what is your current goal?

Great question. Not sure if I can answer it very well though since I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. I guess my current goal would be to reach 10,000 lurve points.
I have career goals, but for the moment my primary goals are to accept myself for everything I am, fully and completely, without judgement or shame, without worrying what other people think of me, and the other goal is to accept my wants as valid, no matter how “unrealistic” others may have told me or what I may have told myself they were.
I suppose they’re part of the same thing, but it’s helpful for me to see them plainly.
I’m not sure yet; I’m not known for planning ahead. But the collective certainly presents some good role-models. To name but a few, I would be thrilled to be half as competent as Shilolo, as rambunctious as asmonet, as well-spoken as gailcalled, or as kick-ass as her owner, Milo.
It is my current life goal to get a job related to the field I am pursuing as a career.
But seeing as how my degree is not related to said field, it’s proving to be a bit problematic.
The current state of the economy isn’t helping either. Eesh.
I have a current goal to finish my college education and finally get a Bachelor’s Degree. I don’t have a deadline as yet but I’ll make it happen before I depart this earthly plane.
To raise my children to be decent human beings.
To make a living (even a small one) doing something I actually enjoy.
@augustlan Yes, that’s it right there. If only I could find something I enjoy & don’t suck at I’d have it made. I wouldn’t even care if the pay was crap as long as I liked the work.
Life goal? To move to northern Wisconsin. People are really nice there, and I wouldn’t have the ghosts of where I live now. I consider it heaven there, and my kids are on the right path, that’s all that matters to me.
My list is pretty specific (I’m one of those people who has a 5 yr plan, 10 yr, 20 yr, etc.) These are the biggest of my life goals:
1. Graduate College next year and obtain a decent job related to my field, preferably to do with a certain diesel engine company
2. Train my Belgian Warmblood baby and start eventing again
3. Finally get married :)
4. Travel to a few exciting places… I’ve never really been anywhere
5. Have children and raise them right
6. Start my own business incorporating re-training Thoroughbreds off the track for new careers and helping dispriveleged children learn how to build functional relationships
6. Grow old and grey with my hubby
I have attainable life goals, but it is very disturbing to think about them, because I don’t actually believe that I can attain them. In any case, I don’t see how it will happen. I only know that I won’t be happy until I achieve them, or I find a way to be happy with other achievements.
I have a “Renaissance Man” checklist for my life. Here are some of the remaining goals. (I’ve knocked a couple off like learning to play guitar).
Learn 2 more languages fluently
Learn how to cook
Drive a motorcycle at some point
Learn how to garden
Live in Italy-this might happen next year for a semester abroad program…:-)
Learn to drive a stick (I sheepishly admit that I’ve never driven a standard).
Get a masters degree (and perhaps but not definitely a PhD).
Bike 100 miles.
Skydive
Swim with sharks (my absolute greatest fear…)
Publish a photography book
Learn how to make guitars from a professional luthier
and there are more but I don’t want to go on too long (forgive me if I already have).
Basically I am working at learning another language (I’m studying Italian), learning how to cook (I just moved out and now actually have to cook for myself), living in Italy-by trying to get into a semester abroad program in Urbino, Italy, and I’m also saving up for a motorcycle.
I don’t think in terms of goals; I like to live in the moment. I am a drifter going where life takes me and doing what seems to be the best decision/action at the moment.
My goal is to live, and at times that can be a struggle.
@elchoopanebre Do you live in or close to Indiana? If you do the Hilly Hundred would be a great way to knock the “bike 100 miles” off your list. Great scenery too!
To be perspective and also get what i want. The real things are.First is to study humanistic sience and languages.that would be all.So far I claim the education as research of publik meanings.
@dlm812
Unfortunately, no. I live in Louisiana (for college anyways- once I get a degree I’m pretty much out of here).
@elchoopanebre Well if you ever have the chance/time/money to travel to Indiana for the weekend, that’s the time to do it!
@dlm812
sweet, maybe i’ll add it to the list
My current immediate goal is to get a job. I just graduated from college, left the country for 6 months, and am now back, but unemployed again….Beyond that my goal is to be happy. I think it’s perfectly attainable and it has more to do with you as a person rather that any outside influences…it is something that is from the inside and I am determined to find happiness no matter where life takes me because you never know what is going to happen to derail you and change your other goals.
Life goals-
graduate at the top of my class
be accepted to Vanderbilt for undergraduate study
be accepted to an excellent medical school
complete my residency and open up a pediatric clinic
Immediate goals-
Stop merely surviving and start living.
Visiting every state in America. Alaska seems to be my toughest one.
