Had my children. No brainer.
I would have to say the greatest thing i have ever done is made a pretty decent life for myself growing up as badly as i did. There is still more to come!
Let fate and God lead me. I ended up in a town I’ve never heard of, working in a high school smaller than my high school’s senior class, and because of all this, my life is better than it ever would have been had I stayed where I was. I met my husband, and I have a job I love.
Broke out of ignorance and learned to question everything.
learned to listen…..
and to always question authority.
@bristolbaby You’re so right. You have to be ready both to listen to others and to think for yourself.

Wow! I always wondered what it would feel like to talk to a bowl of jello!
will have to inform Cosby that jello has a potty mouth.. and shouldn’t be around children
maybe it’s chocolate pudding…you know what they say about chocolate….lol
I raised two lovely young adults.
Defended myself successfully in two murder trials and knew nothing of the law until i was on remand.
Taught students who later used knowledge gained in my course in their careers. Yesterday, I received this email from a former student, and I was shining the rest of the day:
I took intro to Perl in Fall ‘07 and just wanted to send a note of thanks. I found the slides you put together for that class to be really helpful and use them as my main reference. I’m actually in Electrical Engineering, so using Perl is a great time saver for me with mostly just reg exps (Unfortunately data acquisition manufacturers have wildly differing standards on how to save ASCII data, and almost no program is compatible with any way they choose to do it, so hooray for parsing 25k+ lines with like ten lines of code). I found myself visiting the CS department’s site every few days to refer to your slides and eventually just downloaded it all to have as a reference.
@MrItty – Good job MrItty. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Helped bunches of people through school in 3 countries. No “tax advantage” to myself.
Know what I kinda don’t like? People who do good things so that they’ll get credit. Which is what I’m doing right now.
Well, then, here’s some credit!
I am sorry, now, that my post above no longer makes sense. Thanks to all who liked it!
@daloon – Thanks daloon you did a good thing right then.
Bore two beautiful daughters. :-)
Lived with meaning and in the moment.
Learned to apply the scientific method and Occams Razor to everyday life. Live through logic and hunger. Hunger for life and knowlege.
Once when I was working for the ambulance service, I saved a baby…she was only about a month old, and was in respritory arrest. I intubated her, and more than likely stopped her heart from stopping. I have no idea where she is now, but knowing that I put one little girl back on the map gave me a smile.
funny you should ask,
Just this blessed morn, I actually passed
a healthy load. Hey, at my age and my current health
condition, this sort of stuff is OK to know.
Well, you asked, and it was Great!!
now, put on “Foreigner’s” “I Want to Know What Love is”
as you listen, I’m there. That’s my biggy. OK?
I gave birth to Hailey, who is the most beautiful, charming, smart, sweet daughter any mother would be proud and happy to have.
Met my wife, ah hell everybody probably says that. Give me some time, I do so many great things.
