How can you tell if a close friend has intentions of becoming anything more than friends?

i have a close friend that i have always been faithful to. i have been there to help her though other relationships and to make sure she is alright no matter what. i don’t want to be just the guy friend anymore but i don’t want to destroy a wonderful friendship. what can i say, or how can i approach her?
